In general, a pump is shipped being attached on the common base made with steel panel,
Being cautious to the followings, fix the pump on a horizontal and flat base or a sufficient frame
(1) The location should be convenient for disassembly and checking
(2) A proper place to release the exhausted water or gas to outdoor
(3) In case of installing a motor owned by the user, for a direct type, the attention should be paid to minimize the error of the angle and parallel between the axles of the pump and the motor and keep the belt pulley flat and not to be loosened.
(4) To avoid any twist of the common base, insert a liner underneath of the base and adjust
(5) For the direct type, adjust the center of the shaft after the pump is fixed on the base.
(6) The adjustment should be made on the axle of the motor.
-
(1) The proper wiring material to the motor’s capacity should be used.
(2) The fuse capacity of 2 to 3 times higher than the rated current is suitable
(3) If possible use the magnetic switch to prevent any breakdowns by the unskilled manual operation.
(4) The pump’s rotation direction is clockwise(turning to the right) with the direction to see from the moving axle.
-
(1) Install the pipes flanges which are already attached to the openings of intake and exhaust when delivered
(2) Clean the pump’s intake pipe line sufficiently before installing the pipe. Considering possible inflow of dusts, rust pieces and/or welding scraps, it is beneficial to install the Y type strainer in front of the intake opening for the safe pump operation and life extension. If any foreign material(welding scraps and etc..) is introduced in the pump, a serious result, such as a noise of the pump, damage on the impeller or an interruption of the pump operation, may be occurred.(not covered by warranty)
(3) In general, a check valve is installed on the intake opening
(4)In case of an open type large tank, after installing the water supply pipe and the drain pipe, between the pump and the tank, fix the tank.
(5) The water drain pipe from the separator tank should be as short as possible and should be drained openly.
(6) For a water ring type pump, the pipe is not directly connected to a water supply or a drinking water pipe to prevent the backflow
(7) For a liquid end SUS pump, it is better to install Y type strainer to the water supply pipe. For the intake part, the strainer should be installed paying attention to the internal scale.
(8) The filter should be installed for the exhaustion of pressing work, A.B.S. and V.C.M gas to prevent the pump stop
-
* The test operation is conducted as the following order
(1) Water is filled up to the center of the pump’s interior.
(2) In case of the operation after being stopped for a long time, turn the shaft end or the pulley gently with hand and check if it rotates smoothly. If the pump’s interior is rusted, the pump is not rotating. So turn the head part of the coupling a little using a pipe wrench.(If the pump is operated while it is rusted, the pump may be damaged by the overload.)
(3) After the check of the valve’s opening on each pipe, close the intake valve.
(4) Check the safety of the pump’s surrounding before turning the switch on.
(5) After the normal rotation, adjust the water supply amount. Then open the intake valve.
(6) In case of danger of freeze(A) Open either the intake part or the pump’s drain valve. And after closing the water supply valve completely, run the pump for a few second to release the water inside of the pump’s main body as much as possible.
(B) Drain the water by opening the water tank’s drain valve
(C) Since if the pump is operated when it is frozen, the impeller will be damaged, the freeze the pump should be checked before operation
-
(1)The pump’s ultimate pressure and exhaustion speed changed by the seal water’s temperature.
(2) Operate the pump after the checking if the seal water supply is fluent.
(3) In general, purified water or industrial water is used for a water ring type pump’s seal water, The water temperature under 15ºC is appropriate. The higher temperature causes the decrease of vacuum level.
(4) The higher amount of the seal water is required if the vacuum level increases. Also, if the amount of seal water is excessively high, the pump’s gas capacity is reduced and the axle’s power is increased. In opposite, if the amount of the seal water is too low, the water pipe of the impeller housing is not maintained so that the gas capacity is reduced and an unstable phenomenon, such as vibration, is occurred.
(5) The pressure of the seal water is adequate around 1 kg /2cm in general. Since the amount of the seal water changes depends on the change of the pressure, the seal water valve should be adjusted.
(6) Since the cautions, the checking points and the installation condition can be changed depending on the operation condition and environment, please contact us prior to operate the pump(7) A sudden start or stop causes the damages on the pump, the shaft and the impeller, as well as the vacuum meter’s failure.
-
(1) In case of stopping the pump, even through the check valve prevents sudden inflows to the intake, the intake valve should be closed before the stop of the pump
(2) If powder or corrosive gas is taken in or if sludge is excessive in the cooling water, stop the pump and open the drain valve located under the impeller housing to discharge the wastewater. And clean the interior of the pump by supplying water to the intake opening
(3)If cleaning is unnecessary, close the cooling water valve immediately after stop of the pump.
(4) In case of danger of freeze, please refer clause (6) of “04. The Operation.”

(1) If the pump’s pressure becomes close to the ultimate pressure, a noise is occurred because of the cavitation. In this case, control the pressure by opening of the pressure reduction valve.
(2) If there is excessive calcium in the cooling water or too much dust in the intake gas, the pump should be disassembled and repaired in the period of 6 months~ 1 year.
